Lostsoul's Story 1

  "Come on Petalkit!" Stonekit urged his denmate. "Or are you just scared?" asked the little gray kit.
  "I'm not scared!" argued the tiny tortoise-shell she-cat.
  "Then come on!"
  Hobbling out of the nursery, the two kits crept quietly out of the dirtplace, not wanting to alert the night-guard. Finally they were free! Running as fast as their stubby little paws would carry them, the scent of the forest wreathed all around.
  "Now what?" asked Petalkit.
  "Anything you want." replied Stonekit.
  The feeling of self-consciousness filled inside Petalkit's little belly.
  "What if the queens notice us missing?" asked Petalkit.
  "Relax," replied Stonekit, "they'll never notice."
  As they walked in silence Stonekit  detected something unfamiliar.
